▸ Spotify Spotlight: Calvin Harris' FUNK WAV BOUNCES Vol. 1 (2017)

Calvin dropped some mad fire this month. His new album gained huge popularity a few days after it was released. I found out about it through Twitter. Users were raving about his new sound, featuring popular artists like Ariana Grande, Frank Ocean, John Legend, and even, Snoop Dog. I fell in love with the album once I listened to it. Funk Wav Bounces definitely deserves "Album of the Summer" for it is the perfect thing to bump while driving around the city or relaxing on the beach. I have two favorites off the album: 1) Cash Out, reminiscent of 1980's boogie. This made me think of driving across the coast, turnt up. Issa vibe! The song features ScHoolboy Q, PARTYNEXTDOOR & D.R.A.M, such an interesting dynamic. 2) Faking It, I mean Kehlani sang the vocals. Don't need much of an explanation, haha. On top of that, Lil Yachty's rap just mixes in perfectly. Go check the album on Spotify for endless summer jams!

▸ Makeup Memoire: Holographic Nails

Yo, I love this trend. I bought a set of press-on nails that were rose gold in holographic style. They were super cute. I loved how they looked in pictures. I'm pretty late to this trend, but I feel like it definitely fits the holographic fashion craze that is happening this summer. Stores like Forever21 are showcasing holographic fashion all over. From shoes to bags, the hologram style definitely makes a retro statement. Peep the Passion Planner shameless plug, hehe!

▸ Recommended Reads: Sophia Amoruso's #GIRLBOSS (2014)

I want to be a boss a** b*tch, haha. This month, I've been looking into blog support and entrepreneur groups that focus on womxn empowerment and community. Joining these groups have allowed me to feel inspired and seek advice in becoming the person I want to be. I've seen '#GIRLBOSS' on a lot of social media. I actually have a friend that recommended the book. I got into Girlboss Media last month, so I decided to read the book that started it all. I'm finishing up the book right now, but overall, it was such a great read. I was able to learn all about Sophia Amoruso and how she was able to work her way up with her business, NastyGal. 10/10 must read!

▸ Snack Stash: UberEATS

I've spent a lot of time home alone this summer. With no food in the pantry and my lack of ingredients to cook up something yummy, I've had to resort to ordering food. God bless Uber Eats for being such a savior. If you haven't heard about it, Uber now offers a food delivery service. To access the service, all you have to do is download the UberEATS application on your cellphone and sign in with your Uber account. It's that easy. The interface allows you to scroll through several restaurants around your area that have partnered with UberEATS to provide delivery options. I personally love Postmates more, but Uber Eats is my go to when I'm at home. I was able to try really yummy restaurants that I have never heard of! Down for some good eatz? Use my code 'eats-kaya155ue' for $15 off your first UberEATS order!

▸ Explore & Experience: Napa

My favorite experience this month was definitely going to Napa with my Dad. Napa is known for its plethora of vineyards, naming itself "Wine Country." It's the perfect city escape to relax and live in luxury for a few hours. You can explore the different public vineyards around the area. There are a lot of wine tasting and food selections. My Dad and I visited a vineyard called Domaine Carneros and the di Rosa Art Gallery. They were right across the street from each other, which made it super convenient visiting both locations. Domaine Carneros was a small vineyard which had a fancy mansion where visitors were invited to enjoy a drink or two. di Rosa offered a cute little gallery that looked over a beautiful lake. There were also outdoor art installations. Treat yo' self and make a trip to Wine Country!
